QUANTITATIVE IgG TITER

A Quantitative Hepatitis A IgG titer is done to see how much if any immunity (protection) you have from Hepatitis A. This antibody titer is a blood test that detects the presence and measures the amount of antibodies within a person’s blood. The amount and diversity of antibodies correlates to the strength of the body’s immune response. A positive titer means you have immunity. This test is what is needed if you are at high risk due to an occupation or school clinical exposure. This test does not show whether you have Hepatitis A disease.
