Medical Assistant Program -
The Immunization Clinic Center for Learning
At The Immunization Clinic Center for Learning, we offer a Medical Assistant Program designed to prepare you for a fulfilling career in healthcare. Our program includes over 120 hours of online curriculum and a clinical externship at a local healthcare provider. You’ll receive training to assist physicians and cover essential topics such as phlebotomy, pharmacology, medication administration, vaccine administration, vital signs documentation, EKG, and more.
Mission
Our mission is to provide the healthcare community with skilled, educated staff and offer individuals a pathway into healthcare as Certified Medical Assistants through structured, high-quality programs led by experienced healthcare professionals.
Applications are now open for November start dates. The program spans 16 weeks.
Why Choose Our Program?
We intentionally maintain a small class size, accepting only 8 students at a time to ensure personalized support. As experienced nurses and nursing instructors, we understand the importance of hands-on learning and incorporate practical experience from the very first week. You will use manikins and supplies for practice, and your instructors will also serve as your clinical preceptors.
Medical Assistant Program
Our Medical Assistant Program features a structured and supportive learning environment with a hybrid model combining in-person classroom instruction and online learning. Attend classes on Wednesdays or Saturdays, and engage in on-site skills training and clinicals starting from day one. Our approach integrates home learning with weekly classroom follow-ups to reinforce your knowledge.
Objectives of the program
Medical assistants (MAs) are critical members of healthcare teams in a variety of medical settings. As an MA, you are often the first and last person a patient interacts with, making a lasting impact on the patient experience. MAs are flexible, performing a variety of tasks such as:

- Assisting providers with exams and procedures
- Administering injections or medications
- Performing EKG, phlebotomy and other essential laboratory procedures
- Checking patients in and out upon arrival and departure
- Answering phone calls and questions
- Updating and maintaining electronic health records (EHR)
- Learn the skills necessary to function as a member of the healthcare team in an ambulatory setting.
- Know the standards for ethical behavior, therapeutic communication, and protecting the privacy of patient information
- Understand the importance of a first impression and a safe office environment
- Summarize the HIPAA Privacy Rule and HIPAA Security Rule
- Demonstrate basic medical terminology knowledge
- Discuss government and private insurance
- Demonstrate how to write a chief complaint and obtain a patient history
- Discuss the importance of medical and surgical asepsis
